Question of the day 10/13

When you die do you want to be buried or cremated?

I’m thinking cremated.

  1. burn, baby, burn. I don’t even want anyone to see my dead body!!! Why, so they can say, “She looks… nice…” No thanks!

I told Tim to cremate me, take my ashes somewhere he desperately wants to go, and tell people, “Michelle always wanted to have her ashes spread here.”

  2. Cremate! The cost is lower and if my family wants some kind of ritual they can spread the ashes.

I believe that we focus too much on the dead body when a person dies. I really don’t want my family to look at me in a made up state while I’m dead. I remembered reading a book or short story on creamation back in college… after reading that I though the whole process of preserving a body to allow it to be displayed to be so disgusting.

  3. Just because you get buried doesn’t mean anyone has to see you. Open casket isn’t a requirement.

I prefer being buried. I think it’s cool how all the grandparents on my dad’s side are buried together and I can go to a specific place to remember them.

  4. I just figure that if I’m buried, it will make it that much quicker for God when He resurrects me….right? Ok, well maybe not. But I still would rather be buried.

I agree with the rest of the comments though. No open casket. That’s just gross.

  5. I vote cremation. You can still have a gravestone if you are cremated. My grandfather was cremated, and his ashes were buried at Rose Hills, so I have a place I can go and remember him.

  6. cremated! I prefer to stay in a beautiful something on a mantle in the home of one of my children, or husband (if he out lives me) instead if a rotting in a grave, and leaving the pressure on my family to visit me often, and keep up my grave sight! It’s too much!!
